Thank you Greece for Smashing the Markets

“It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.”

Thomas Sowell

The Dow Jones closed inside the 10,000 mark after taking a drastic hit this week, falling 400 points.  We can thank those wonderful rioting olive-pickers: the Greeks, who rarely work and retire early in their fabulous cradle-to-grave welfare state, living above their means under excessive government spending and borrowing.  Greece created their massive deficits that climbed 113% over their GDP and its Greece’s failure that caused world markets to fall.  But socialist Greece will receive a trillion dollar bail-out for its bad behavior rather than letting the country, and its banks, fail and learn a lesson: socialism does not work.

America is already in debt for government spending and lending, now we are being dragged into the Greek fray: America is helping bail out Greece with $40 billion dollars from Obama while he hikes taxes and government spending in the U.S.

Why should America pay for lazy socialists who vacation most of the year while receiving enormous pensions for rarely working?

What happens if Greece defaults on the loan—most countries do; what are the consequences for the EU and American economies?  World banks will take enormous hits, proving bailouts don’t work and politicians failed Economics 101: “there’s no such thing as a free lunch.”

Greece’s actions are rippling across the globe, affecting the U.S. drastically.  Bailing out Greece does not save them or lower their deficit, it sends the wrong message: if you wreck your economy, your government fails, and you practice bad politics, don’t worry, you’ll be rewarded with an expensive time-out.  And someone else will pay for it.

Greece is not America’s problem, they belong to the EU, let the EU bail them out and suffer the consequences, we have enough problems of our own with having to fund the coffers of career-vacationing socialists who hate America.

Take off Your Crown Exxon, You’re No Longer the World’s Oil Spiller-Killer

BP Oil Spill Destroys Gulf Coast Thanks to Slow Reaction to Clean-up

Congratulations Exxon, you’re no longer the world’s villainous Valdez spiller-killer.  Exxon can relax and disappear into history, forgotten, as the illustrious oil-spill crown passes dishonorably to British Petroleum (BP) for the worse oil spill in history that killed rig-workers, polluted America’s Gulf Coastline, destroyed marine life, and the Gulf fishing industry.

The government is equally at fault for lack of concern.

After the explosion on April 30th, BP reacted quickly in attempts to save lives on the blown rig,  Obama appeared concerned for a few days, but quickly ignored the spill and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal’s pleas for help for 10 days.  Obama was busy entertaining rock star Bono at the White House.

One month of neglectful stupidity allowed an underwater oil well to pour millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf.  One month later, the cause of the disaster is not as deplorable as the government’s slow response.

Responsibility for the spill, investigations for the best way to stop and contain the spill, became foremost rather than plugging the well with mud, as done yesterday.  The mud-plug should have been done before investigative blame-game politics.  Now Americans, including Obama supporters  MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, who said the “white House is acting like a Vatican Observer,” and Democrat Strategist James Carville, who asked why the government is “…risking everything by this ‘go along with BP’ strategy they have that seems like, lackadaisical on this…,” are demanding answers.

Questions were put to Obama by White House reporters, who placed blame solely on BP and oil companies he said “has little or no regulations placed on them.”

In his first news conference in months, Obama consigned full responsibility to BP and eliminated himself from the slow reaction to stop the spill :

“As far as I’m concerned, BP is responsible for this horrific disaster…BP will be held accountable for the spill…the Federal Government is directing the effort to clean the spill… [and] we will continue to do whatever is necessary to clean up the Gulf Coast.”

Obama acquitted his slow reaction to Governor Jindal and Louisiana by stating “This [spill] has been our highest priority since the crisis occurred,” and “BP was not fully forthcoming” in telling the White House “the full extent of damage” until too late.  Obama then switched his explanation, claiming he did not want to “go through with” taking care of the spill “until a 30 day investigation was complete,” stating “that investigation is now complete.”

Obama can remove himself from blame, chastise BP, make oil companies accountable for drilling, but that doesn’t change the fact he and Homeland Security waited too long to okay plugging a gushing oil well when the U.S. has the resources, as shown yesterday, to stop and contain oil spills.

Take off your crown Exxon, you’re no longer the biggest oil disaster in history.  Congratulations BP, you are officially Obama’s Katrina.
